Digging Out
The
Valentine's Days snowstorm in the region
caused problems not so much because of the
snow that fell but because that snow froze
to ice. Thurmont used plows and front loaders
to clear the main streets downtown while
Thurmont Police closed off sections of the
roads. Snow was dumped at Community Park.
The Valentine's Day storm cost the town
about $7,800 to clear.
